The problem with water in a server room
Sprinklers are the right choice for most occupied spaces — but in a server room, electrical room or control room, water causes as much loss as the fire: destroyed equipment, corrupted data and days of downtime. For these spaces, a different approach is needed.
How clean-agent suppression works
Clean-agent systems flood the protected room with a gas — such as Novec 1230 or FM-200 — that extinguishes the fire in seconds without water and leaves no residue. Equipment is protected, data survives, and operations can resume quickly.
Novec 1230 vs FM-200
Both are people-safe and residue-free. FM-200 is a long-established chemical agent; Novec 1230 is a fluid with near-zero global-warming potential and a wide safety margin, often preferred for new, sustainability-conscious installations.
